I can’t believe it’s that time of year already!  There are always so many holiday events to check out in Ventura County!
 

HERE IS A LIST OF EVENTS WE THOUGHT LOOKED INTERESTING IN VENTURA COUNTY AND SANTA BARBARA COUNTY THIS SEASON:

1.  HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING AND SANTA’S VILLAGE

December 2

“Downtown’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony is back and bigger than ever! This year enjoy the NEW Santa’s Village in Figueroa Plaza from 3pm-8pm, with food and shopping vendors, free kids activities and the inflatable snow globe photo booth! 3.  SANTA BARBARA PARADE OF LIGHTS

December 11

3:00 PM

“The 31st annual Parade of Lights activities will begin at 3 PM. At 5:30 PM the annual boat parade will begin as 20-30 boats motor, sail and paddle the Santa Barbara Coastline. Fireworks begin at 7 PM. Best viewing locations include Stearns Wharf and the Santa Barbara Breakwater. This year the awards were given out at the Veterans’ Memorial Building on Cabrillo Boulevard with an appearance from special D-Day veterans.”

4. WESTLAKE VILLAGE HOLIDAY SING-A-LING

“The City turns 35 on Sunday, December 11, 2016 and in honor of that occasion, the City will be hosting a Holiday Sing-a-Long in partnership with The Shoppes at Westlake Village. The sing-a-long will begin at 4:00 pm and conclude with a fountain display and a tree lighting at approximately 5:15 pm. The event will be held in the Fountain Courtyard in front of Jeannine’s. Special activities will include a toy drive for Casa Pacifica and a canned food drive for Manna with drop offs available from 3-6:00 pm. Other activities include a balloon artist and cookie decorating area. In addition, two of the newest Sheriff volunteers the adorable miniature horses will be available for a photo opportunity and a meet-n’greet area. The sing-a-long will feature a choir made up of local residents and students and a house band full of local musicians. In addition, local community leaders and business owners will have the opportunity to lead the singing of fun winter tunes.

For this special event, residents may board the Holiday Trolley beginning at 1:00 pm with a special neighborhood route to take people to and from the event. The trolley will run three hours before and after the event to allow for dining and shopping opportunities for attendees. The event will occur rain or shine, and some special 35th Anniversary umbrellas will be available to the first 200 attendees.If you would like to participate in the choir or the house band, please contact Brianne Anderson, Community Services Coordinator at Brianne@wlv.org or by calling 818-706-1613.”

6.  GINGERBREAD HOUSES ON DISPLAY

“The Friends of Heritage Square would like to invite you to view the creation’s from children, adults, businesses, or organizations for their 8th Annual Gingerbread House Contest. Their hands were hard at work creating a delicious masterpiece out of gingerbread, icing, and any other edibles you can think of. Houses will be displayed from Dec 1st to Dec 17th, 2016 FREE to view creations at Heritage Square 731 S A Street Sat 10-4pm and Sun 1-4pm More details coming soon!”
